How to collect a feces sample for your lab test

Stool Culture

Take a pea-sized portion of the stool in a stool container by using a spoon attached to the lid. It is necessary for the stool sample to be fresh, with no more than 1 to 2 hours before it’s admitted to the lab for testing.

Helminth Ova and Parasite Test

Take a pea-sized portion of the stool and place it in a stool container using a spoon attached to the lid. If you notice something resembling threads or worms in the stool, make sure to include those portions of the stool in the sample as well.
